Measure Creative was founded in 2015 in Portland, Oregon.

Devon Smith comes from a background in digital strategy, market research, and data analysis. Since 2005, she has worked in Seattle, New York City, Washington, DC and Portland, always for nonprofit and philanthropic organizations, usually as a consultant. Prior to co-founding Measure, she created and grew the social media and data practices at Threespot, a web design agency in Washington, DC. Her clients there included The Brookings Institution, Smithsonian Institution, Ford’s Theatre, Barr Foundation, McKnight Foundation, Pew Charitable Trusts, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, BBC America, Harvard Business School, US State Department, UNICEF, and Planned Parenthood, among many others. Early in her career, Devon worked with many arts organizations, including the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, Yale Repertory Theatre, Actors Theatre of Louisville, the World Science Festival, Washington Ensemble Theatre, Broadway’s Roundabout Theatre Company, and Off-Broadway’s ART/NY.

Devon has been a featured speaker at SXSW, Nonprofit Technology Conference, Do Good Data, Games for Change, Sundance Film Festival, Broadway League, National Endowment for the Arts, Bloomberg Philanthropy, and dozens more conferences across the US, UK, and Australia. She has also guest taught in classes at American University, Arizona State University, University of Maryland, and Yale University. Her writing has been published as cover stories for TCG’s American Theatre Magazine, in a collection of plays from the 14/48 Festival, and as a case study published by Yale Press.

She holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management, an MFA from the Yale School of Drama, and two bachelor's degrees from the University of Washington. If she’s not in front of a spreadsheet, you might find her in a hot yoga studio, traveling to remote destinations, scuba diving, or at @devonvsmith.

Jordan Fugate was a co-founder of Measure Creative with a background in user experience design and digital strategy. After a decade collaborating together, in 2022, he left Measure to pursue new opportunities. Measure will be forever grateful for everything Jordan brought to the first chapter of our little digital studio.
